Services/Responsibilities

The streets department is responsible for citywide refuse collection as well as a host of other duties, including: 

• clearing overgrowth of bushes and trees that block intersections
• repairing fences, boards, railings, and bumpers on the boardwalk
• maintaining city vehicles
• rebuilding and painting benches and lifeguard stands
• repairing and maintaining sidewalks
• assisting with city events
• repairing and cleaning catch basin grates
• Snow removal and plowing, salting, and sanding roads
• maintaining trees and plantings
• operating the street sweeper and beach sand cleaner and rake
• installing holiday lights on City of Rehoboth Beach property.
