Rehoboth Avenue repaving project is back on

Oct 15, 2024

The on-again, off-again Rehoboth Avenue repaving project is ON AGAIN. After announcing that the project was being delayed due to budget issues, DelDOT has now informed the City of Rehoboth Beach that it will undertake milling and paving this fall, following the annual Sea Witch Festival.

The DelDOT contractor, A-Del, currently is performing curbing and concrete work on medians along Rehoboth Avenue. Pedestrian connections along the avenue also will be upgraded. The contractor will pause work for the Sea Witch Festival, which is October 25-27 and then begin work on milling and paving soon after that.

“We know that communication related to this project has been confusing for people,” says City Manager Taylour Tedder. “We want to assure our residents and business owners that the city will work diligently along with DelDOT and the contractor to minimize disruptions as much as possible. We hope that everyone keeps in mind that the final result will be a smoother, enhanced main thoroughfare through town.”

To help minimize the project’s impact on businesses, work is planned to be done overnight, from 6 pm-6 am.
