The City of Rehoboth Beach has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its fiscal year 2022-23 budget. This is the second consecutive year in which Rehoboth Beach has earned this national recognition.
According to GFOA, the award represents a significant achievement and an organization’s commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. To earn GFOA recognition, budget documents must meet program criteria and serve effectively as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
“The City of Rehoboth Beach is proud to offer a high level of clarity, transparency, and detailed information about the city’s financial plan through its annual budget document,” says Interim City Manager Evan Miller. “I’m proud that our finance department and all of our departments, really, have worked hard to make our budget document an attractive and effective communication tool.”
Approximately 1,700 government organizations in the United States and Canada received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award last year. In Delaware, the City of Rehoboth Beach was the smallest government organization recognized; other Delaware recipients included Sussex County, New Castle County, and the city of Wilmington.
Rehoboth’s budget for fiscal year 2023, which ends March 31, 2023, is available on the city’s website.
