Notice of Work - Annual Paving Program

The City of Rehoboth Beach has contracted A-Del Construction to perform paving work at the following locations:

• Sussex Street from Columbia Avenue to Fifth Street
• Lake Avenue from Second Street to Surf Avenue
• Stockley Street from Hickman Street to Scarborough Avenue
• Scarborough Avenue from Christian Street to Lake Drive

This project is part of the Annual Paving Program that protects the City’s investment in the street infrastructure by maintaining and repairing streets. The contractor will also be performing sidewalk and utility work adjacent to 205, 207, and 209 Lake Drive along with sealing of cracks and joints on Country Club Drive, Sandalwood Street, and Laurel Street. 

The contractor will begin preparation work the week of October 26, 2020. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of November. Please note that any inclement weather or unforeseen conditions may cause delays to this schedule.

During this work, sections of the road may be closed to thru traffic but open to local traffic. Advance road closure signage will be erected, and signed detour routes will be provided to direct motorists around the road closure. Personnel on-site will coordinate any driveway disruptions/closures with residents to minimize the length of closure and ensure alternate parking arrangements are made. It is expected that the driveway closures should not take more than a few hours. 

When driving or walking through and around the construction area, we request that you follow and obey the construction traffic signage for your safety and the safety of the workers. The scheduled work hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
