On Sunday, February 2nd, join thousands of other brrrave souls for the coolest thing you’ll do this year. The Lewes Polar Bear Plunge, held annually on the first Sunday in February, has developed into a truly unique Delaware tradition and is Special Olympics Delaware’s largest fundraiser. Thank you for helping us build a bigger, better and stronger community for more than 4,200 Special Olympics athletes in Delaware. Schedule of Events
Friday – January 31, 2020
5pm-8pm: Check-in/Day-of Registration opens for Plunge and Run to Plunge at Rehoboth Beach Convention Center (Pick up a friend's packet by bringing their signed waiver form.)
Bears begin arriving and the majority of supporting restaurants and retailers begin offering discounts.
Note: Bears must have their wristbands (received at onsite registration) in order to receive the discount.
Saturday – February 1, 2020
10am: 5K Run to the Plunge on Boardwalk at Rehoboth Ave. (registration/check-in opens at 8a.m.)
10am-2pm: Jolly Trolley rides up and down Rehoboth Ave.
10am-3pm: Sand sculpting (on beach just south of Rehoboth Ave.)
12pm-2pm: Fire & Ice (Rehoboth Fire House)
2:30pm-5pm: Restaurant Chili Tasting Contest
4pm-7pm: Check-in/Day-of Registration for Plunge open at Rehoboth Beach Convention Center (Pick up a friend's packet by bringing their signed waiver form.)
Sunday – February 2, 2020
10am: Check-in/Day-of Registration opens under the tent on Rehoboth Ave.
9am-12pm: Ice Sculpting demonstration
9am-1pm: Sand sculpting (on beach just south of Rehoboth Ave.)
1pm: Lewes Polar Bear Plunge
1:15pm: Apres Plunge Party at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center
