City of Rehoboth Beach Seeks Volunteers to Serve on Environment Committee

The City of Rehoboth Beach is currently seeking applicants to volunteer to serve on the new Environment Committee. The committee was created to work to energize, inspire and lead the City to become an eco-friendly, conservation-focused destination. The committee will endeavor to take care of our natural environment and address the causes and impacts of climate change and environmental risks that pollute the ocean, lakes, beach, canal and public land areas and endanger humans, marine and wildlife. The committee will focus on accomplishing its mission through public awareness, education, incentives, recommending public policy and taking effective steps that will make Rehoboth Beach an environmentally friendly model for other coastal communities. Mayor Paul Kuhns has appointed Commissioners Richard Byrne and Lisa Schlosser as liaisons with the new committee.

Eligible members include property and business owners, residents and community stakeholders. The committee will meet on an as-needed basis at City Hall and all meetings are open to the public.
