Rehoboth’s Jeney earns floodplain manager certification

Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Rehoboth Beach Dennis Jeney has met the requirements to become a certified floodplain manager under the Association of State Floodplain Manager (ASFPM) Certified Floodplain Manager Program. The ASFPM CFM Program is a national program established for professional certification of floodplain managers, to recognize continuing education and professional development in the knowledge and performance of local, state, federal and private-sector floodplain managers. This certification is awarded by the ASFPM directly to individuals who apply and successfully pass a comprehensive examination of the national programs and standards to reduce flood losses in the nation.

Jeney will be using his new certification to assist municipal clients with floodplain management, including the preparation of updated floodplain management ordinances and compliance with the requirements for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS).
