Ocean Outfall bid update

Bids were received for the Ocean Outfall on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Manson Construction Co. of Seattle, Washington, was the apparent low bidder at $27,655,850. Other bids received were from Weeks Marine Inc. of Cranford, New Jersey, at $32,989,450, and American Bridge of Tampa, Florida, at $43,468,521. 

Bids were received for the Ocean Outfall Effluent Pumping Station, Force Main and WWTP CIP Upgrade Phase 1 on Thursday, July 13, 2017. The apparent low bidder for the Effluent Pumping Station at $1,768,555 is Allan Myers, headquartered in Worcester, Pennsylvania, with a construction office in Dover. A-Del Construction of Newark, Delaware, was the apparent low bidder for the Force Main at $5,700,447. Allan Myers submitted the apparent low bid at $2,256,555 for the WWTP CIP Upgrade Phase 1 project. For bid information, please visit

At the Commissioner Workshop Meeting on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, 9:30 a.m., the Commissioners will be discussing with the city's engineers, GHD, and Sussex County representatives matters related to the construction of the city's wastewater outfall, the various capital improvement projects at the wastewater treatment plant, the contractual arrangement between the city and county, and any other related issues.
