DelDOT announced today that, due to the early arrival of cold temperatures, the Rehoboth Avenue repaving project has been paused until early spring. While this delay is disappointing, it is necessary to ensure a high-quality finished product.
Paving has been completed from the bandstand to 2nd Street. Where it is missing, temporary striping will be completed next week. In early spring, operations will resume to mill and pave from 2nd Street to through the traffic circle.
The city's paving projects (on Maryland Avenue, 1st Street, and Scarborough Ext.) are thus far unaffected by the cold temperatures as they are not as complex (with parking cut-ins) as the Rehoboth Avenue project.
