Recreation activities put F-U-N into summertime

Beginning next week, the City of Rehoboth Beach recreation department will offer summer activities for the young and young at heart. These programs are free and open to residents and visitors.

Arts and craft activities for children ages 2-12 will be offered at 9 Monday and Wednesday mornings at Grove Park from June 10 through August 21.

On Tuesdays, from 6-7 pm, the Grove Walking & Jogging Club promotes healthy activity and camaraderie.

The club will meet at Grove Park June 11-August 20.

A variety of special programs will be offered for children of all ages at 9 am Thursdays at Grove Park.

  • Envirotech will offer hands-on environmental education activities June 27, July 25, and August 15.
  • Kite-making, sponsored by Rehoboth Toy & Kite Company, will take place June 20 and August 8.
  • Magic Jack will perform July 4, July 18, and August 1.
  • Storytime Yoga with local author Hiba Stancofski is scheduled for July 11 and August 22.

At 9 am on select Fridays, artist Stephanie Shuttleworth will offer face painting: June 14, July 5, and August 2. This activity also will take place at Grove Park.
