Beginning Thursday, October 17, through Tuesday, October 22, the trucking contractor for the US Army Corps of Engineers beach nourishment project will be delivering multiple tractor-trailer loads of supplies to the staging area at Deauville Beach. The tractor-trailers will be entering the town via Rehoboth Avenue to Henlopen Avenue through the traffic circle. The Rehoboth Beach Police Department will provide traffic assistance. The contractor for the project is Great Lakes Dredge and Dock. The Dodge Island and Padre Island hopper dredges are scheduled to arrive Sunday, October 20, and dredging is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 21. The crew will work north to south, starting in Rehoboth Beach then Dewey Beach. Great Lakes Dredge and Dock will work 24 hours per day and 7 days per week to complete contract work. The timeline for work in Rehoboth Beach is 20 days and Dewey Beach is 25 days.
