The DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship in cooperation with the Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife has started work this week to remove the plywood wall in the western finger of Silver Lake as part of the Aquatic Habitat Enhancement Project that got underway last October.
Biodegradable logs will line the bank and dredged sediment will be used to fill in behind the logs. The bank will be landscaped with native plants to provide a vegetative buffer. DNREC will continue to monitor and fill areas in the lake over the spring and summer. The equipment staging area is located at the north end of the Tot Lot and the areas have been staked in the lake that are impacted by the construction.
