Rehoboth Beach celebrates Arbor Day

May 02, 2017

City officials were joined by the 4th grade class from Rehoboth Elementary School along with volunteers to celebrate Arbor Day on April 28 in Stockley Street Park. Mayor Sam Cooper read the Arbor Day Proclamation. The city has been named a "Tree City USA" for the 26th year. This designation, awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters, was earned for the City of Rehoboth Beach's tree canopy stewardship and continued commitment to a green city.

More information about Tree City USA can be found at www.arborday.org/TreeCityUSA. The Arbor Day Foundation is a nonprofit, environmental, and education organization of nearly one million members, with a mission to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees.
