Rehoboth Police arrested Terri Jory-Johnsen, 63, of Lewes for multiple charges in reference to an identity theft.
On August 24, 2015 Rehoboth Beach Police began investigating a report of an identity theft in which a victim’s credit card number was used to fraudulently purchase several items online totaling over $2,000. The victim was alerted by one of the companies, Q-See, after the purchase was made that her shipping address was updated and changed from her billing address. Through the course of the investigation it was determined that Terri Jory-Johnsen made purchases online using her own first name and the victim’s last name and had items shipped to her residence where Jory-Johnsen would repackage and ship the items to multiple locations including locations oversees. A search warrant was conducted on Jory-Johnsen residence in the Holly Oaks community where a substantial amount of evidence was collected linking Jory-Johnsen to multiple cases of identity theft and fraudulent purchases.
Jory-Johnsen was arrested on October 10, 2015 and charged with 3-Counts of Identity Theft, 3-Counts of Unlawful Use of a Payment Card and 3-Counts of Theft Under $1500. This in an ongoing investigation with additional charges forthcoming as it is believed that additional victims have been targeted. Jory-Johnsen was committed to Baylor’s Women’s Correctional Institute in default of $11,250 secured bond.
