Lewes and Rehoboth Canal - SR 1A, Rehoboth Avenue Bridge - Closed to Navigation - Reduced Vertical Clearance

An engineering firm on behalf of the Delaware Department of Transportation will be conducting maintenance at the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal, Rehoboth Avenue (SR 1A) Bridge, at mile 6.7, Rehoboth, DE. The maintenance will be conducted between Thursday, March 21 and Friday, May 24, 2019; Mon-Fri; from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The maintenance will require a containment structure to hang below the bridge reducing the vertical clearance to 13 feet above mean high water. The bridge will be unable to open for emergency vessels. Mariners should use caution when transiting the area.
