Henlopen Avenue Water Main Project

The Water Department has completed work on the south side of Henlopen Avenue connecting the new water main to the existing water line at properties. The crew is scheduling the tie-in of the new main at Grove Street on Monday, May 14. Water will be shut off to all properties on Henlopen Avenue between Grove Street and Felton Street, along with 132 Felton Street, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. In most cases, when the water pressure returns, you will need to run the cold water tap for a few minutes to clear the pipes. The limit of disturbance for this work is in the city right-of-way only. All work is weather dependent. Following the tie-in of the new main, new fire hydrants will be installed on the south side of Henlopen Avenue at Grove Street, Felton Street, Easton Street, Gerar Street and Third Street.
