Enhancement of the Garden of the Navigators

At the Commissioners workshop meeting Monday, July 9, 2018, the Rehoboth Beach Sister City Association (RBSCA) presented plans to gift a terracotta pottery fountain to the City of Rehoboth Beach. The fountain would be placed in the Garden of the Navigators. The fountain is by renowned artisan Enzo Zago who would oversee the installment. RBSCA would be responsible for transportation and installation costs, and the city would maintain the fountain. In 2010 the City of Rehoboth Beach entered into a Sister Cities relationship with Greve-in-Chianti. Greve is Tuscan city 26 miles south of Florence. The relationship was formed based on a shared connection with the explorer, Giovanni Verrazzano. Verrazzano explored the Delaware coastline in 1524 and Greve is his ancestral home. The Commissioners will be discussing this fountain in more detail at their upcoming regular meeting on July 20, 2018.
