Dennis Jeney, Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Rehoboth Beach, recently received certification as a permit technician. Jeney received certification through the International Code Council (ICC). Certification requires knowledge in the international building code, legal aspects, zone and site development, plans and documents and successfully passing an exam administered by the ICC. Jeney said he is appreciative of the support from the city, building and licensing department and his family. “The knowledge with this certification helps serve the city, customer, and citizen better. I’m looking forward to continually growing with the city and contributing to the progress we are experiencing,” said Jeney. Along with the permit technician certification, Jeney holds property maintenance and housing inspector certifications. “Working toward and earning professional certification in one’s field of work shows the dedication of the staff to ensure they are performing at the highest levels,” said City Manager Sharon Lynn. “We congratulate Dennis on his achievement.
