City Removing Benches Due to COVID-19 Threat

Beginning Monday, April 27, the City of Rehoboth Beach is temporarily removing benches city-wide. "After careful consideration, this decision was made to ensure we are taking all steps possible to slow the spread of COVID-19. By removing access to benches that invite multiple touches and close personal contact, we are in a better position to combat the spread of coronavirus,” said Mayor Paul Kuhns. The City urges the public to heed Governor John Carney's Declarations of a State of Emergency. This is a very difficult time for everyone, and the path forward is for all of us to take this seriously as a community.

The beach and Boardwalk remain closed until May 15, or until the public health threat of COVID-19 has been eliminated, per Governor Carney's State of Emergency order.  

At this time, City playgrounds are closed due to coronavirus. Although our City parks remain open, we ask that all park goers take extra precautions to stay healthy and safe. While solo exercise is okay, team sports are not permitted. Please maintain at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and others when outside and avoid congregating in groups.
