City of Rehoboth Beach Dedicates Pavilion in Honor of Tom Zellers

Nov 06, 2020

The City of Rehoboth Beach formally dedicated the Tom Zellers Pavilion on November 6 in honoring a pillar of the community.

Rehoboth Beach residents and elected officials gathered to commemorate Zellers, who passed away in October 2019.

The pavilion sits on the site of the Stockley Street Park. This three-acre park is located on Stockley Street just west of Scarborough Avenue.

Tom was active in the Rehoboth community, where he served as president of Country Club Estates Property Owners Association. Tom was also involved in Save Our Lakes Alliance 3 (SOLA3) and updates made to Silver Lake’s Tot Lot, including the pavilion. Tom loved his Rehoboth community and moved to Rehoboth full-time in 2015.

Partial funding for the pavilion was received from community transportation funds through Senator Ernie Lopez.

“This is just a small way that we can recognize him for all the work he did,” said Rehoboth Mayor Stan Mills. “The City hopes that this pavilion will be symbolic of Tom’s open and inviting character.”

Tom’s wife, Lorraine Zellers, thanked the city on behalf of the Zellers family to honor Tom and his passion for the community he cared for.
