New playground equipment is being installed at Lake Gerar near the intersection of Lake Avenue and First Street. The new play area, designed for children ages 2-5, will be accessible and inclusive. The project also will incorporate new landscaping and fencing.
The new equipment has been installed. New surfacing and a walkway are being installed at the end of April; no foot traffic is permitted in the park while the surface is being installed and cures. The city anticipates that the new playground will open in May 2022.
