Rehoboth Art League "Beach Blowout" Opening Reception at City Hall

July 6th, 2018 - 5:00 pm - July 6th, 2018 - 7:00 pm

The Rehoboth Art League has partnered with the City of Rehoboth Beach to present “Beach Blowout,” a new exhibition currently on display at Rehoboth Beach City Hall. The juror of this exhibition was acclaimed Delaware artist, and Rehoboth Art League member, Rebecca Raubacher, who recently had a retrospective exhibition of her work at the Rehoboth Art League. Raubacher selected eleven works from over sixty submissions with themes ranging from both the natural beauty of our local beaches and landscapes to the excitement of the boardwalk. The opening reception will take place on Friday, July 6, from 5-7 p.m. at City Hall, located at 229 Rehoboth Avenue, in Rehoboth Beach. This exhibition runs through December 30, 2018. All the works in this exhibition are available for sale.

The Rehoboth Art League is a membership-based nonprofit arts organization dedicated to teaching, preserving, and inspiring the arts in the region. For additional information on the Art League, its classes, events, and exhibitions visit the website at rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408. This organization is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on DelawareScene.com.

In addition to this exhibition, the Coastal Camera Club and Rehoboth Elementary 5th graders SNAP Rehoboth photography will be on display. The new exhibition by the Coastal Camera Club reveals the diversity in both subject genre and techniques used by members of the club. The Coastal Camera Club is a member-based organization consisting of over 250 photographers, from beginner to professional. The purpose of the club is to encourage and promote member interest in all phases of photography and to encourage active participation in the education of fellow members through the sharing of skills and experiences. The group holds contests and present awards, as well as promote the photographic effort of its members through local exhibitions and displays. “We are proud to display art from these talented artists that are breathing new life and color into City Hall,” stated Mayor Paul Kuhns. “Our partnership with Rehoboth Art League, Coastal Camera Club and Rehoboth Elementary continue to allow for the increased recognition of our local art community.” For more information, please contact the Communications Department at 302-227-6181 ext. 522 or [email protected].
