Employees at the City of Rehoboth Beach have begun preparing for the move into new City Hall. To accommodate the time needed to accomplish the various tasks associated with moving each department, starting Monday, September 18, through Friday, September 22, City Hall offices (Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Building & Licensing and Alderman’s Court) will be closed to the public. To leave a message during the move, or to request information, please call 302-227-6181. Messages will be returned as soon as possible by available staff who will be working inside the building. The Rehoboth Beach Police Department will also be moving into their new offices. To contact the Police Department during the move, please call the non-emergency number at 302-227-2577, or dial 911 for an emergency. The new City Hall will officially open to the public on Monday, September 25, for normal business hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. City bills and other correspondence may still be mailed during the transition to the City of Rehoboth Beach, 229 Rehoboth Avenue or P.O. Box 1163, Rehoboth Beach DE 19971. According to City Manager Sharon Lynn, the staff is excited about the move. “We are looking forward to the transition to the new building and optimistic about what the future has in store for us,” she said. In City Hall’s new home, here’s where you can find departments:
First Floor: Administration, Finance, Rehoboth Beach Police Department
Second Floor: Information Technology, Building & Licensing, Alderman’s Court and the Commissioners Meeting Room
The public is invited to a City Hall open house on Sunday, October 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. Rehoboth residents and businesses are encouraged to stop by to talk with the Mayor, Commissioners and staff, tour City Hall and learn more about city operations.
